Sikh Heritage in the CAF
From the battlefields of the First World War to modern operations at home and abroad, Sikh men and women have served Canada with courage, dedication, and pride. Beginning with pioneers such as Private Bukham Singh, one of the first Sikh soldiers to serve Canada during WWI, Sikhs have contributed to the Canadian Armed Forces for more than a century.
This site honours the history, sacrifices, and achievements of Sikh service members past and present, while supporting those who serve today. Through education, mentorship, and community, we aim to preserve Sikh military heritage, recognize its lasting impact, and empower current and future Sikh members of the Canadian Armed Forces to carry this proud legacy forward.

We provide resources, mentorship, and guidance to help Sikh members navigate military service while maintaining their faith, identity, and well-being. By connecting serving members, veterans, and community leaders, we strengthen support networks within the CAF and offer informed guidance to CAF leadership on the needs, considerations, and experiences of Sikh soldiers, helping ensure Sikh personnel are empowered to serve with confidence, dignity, and pride.
